There are people we can always return to, even if we’ve been light years apart. They are synonymous with warmth and closeness, a connection at first sight. An unbreakable and unique harmony.
They smell of home, of the plasters that once covered our emotional wounds, of the ointment that healed them, of the voice that soothed us. Through them, we were able to believe that excruciating moments were just that: moments.
The most beautiful people I know
“People you feel at home with”, who are as strong as steel, are the people who hug you so tightly that they put all your pieces back together, the ones who make your fears and your pains disappear. Those who taught you goodness, showed you that the world is totally wonderful.
Thanks to them, we find reasons to do our very best every day and be happy. And through their patience, we have learned to understand that good things happen to those who wait for them.
Because patience is a virtue that frames our emotional freedom. Blowing on our wounds only relieves the pain. With these people we are no longer afraid to look at life as it is, with all its problems.
We know that although it is difficult, we will not know the value of being strong until we have no other choice. We fall where we fall and we get up because this person once showed us that we can have strength and courage.
But if at some point we’re not able to be strong, they’re there, like walking sticks or fulcrums, reminding us that there’s always a place we can come back to so we can put ourselves back together. .
Their heart has a unique engine: kindness
You can easily recognize them because since you met them, you are a better person. They have strengthened you and enriched your life.
You probably know more than one person who seems to be made of steel, whose engine only runs on a mix of two fuels: love and understanding.
I know of no warmth more comforting than the warmth of the people I feel at home with. It’s not just our family members, friends or companions; they are our fire. And it is because of their love that we have come to understand that anything can burn if we stir it in the right way.
They prevent us from falling by helping us make bigger wings. They restore our dreams, calm our fears, choose the sadness worth experiencing and abolish the rest.
They are beautiful people who smell like a breeze and taste like the sea. They have the ability to hug the people they love with words and looks, making the ugliest wounds disappear and turning them into precious scars.
Because they can prevent the smile we use to hide our pain from breaking us inside and turn it into true happiness. These people know us so well that they know if we’re lying when we say, “I’m fine.”
Because of all the emotional wealth they have shared with us, we will never be able to express what they are and what they mean to us. In terms of gratitude, we will always owe them. Even if it is not enough just to say: thank you!
