How do you find the light in the shade?

We all have days when the sun shines, but all we see is dark. Even the most motivated people can feel down. Sometimes the darkness is so intense that no light can be seen in the shadows.

If your heart is in the shadows, you must find out why there is no light. You need to find ways to get out of the existential crisis and motivate yourself when you feel attacked by apathy and a desire to do nothing at all.

Why is there no more light in the shadows?

The darkness in your heart can have many different causes, and your mission is to find out what’s going on so it doesn’t turn into something even more complicated, like depression.

Not being able to find light in the shade can have a number of causes, such as:

  • You are afraid of the future, you feel cowardly, and you do not want to develop, and you are afraid of changes.
  • You are tired and too powerless to lead a healthy life.
  • Having no self confidence. You don’t want to leave your comfort zone.
  • You think you’re incompetent because you don’t value yourself.

In addition, if you are a person who wants to do things but cannot make decisions, you will feel frustrated. Sometimes it can help to boost your motivation in a simple way. For example, if you want to exercise every morning, put your workout clothes next to your bed so you can see them when you wake up.

If we look further at the example of sports, you can also make plans with a friend to go to the gym together, or exercise together… Whatever way to motivate yourself and achieve your goals, it will always be a be a good idea!

Let the light blind you when it gets dark

If you find that the dark is trying to dominate you, go back to your roots and listen to the sounds your body is making. You may need to rest or exercise. Giving your body what it asks for is good for health, but it also fills you with energy to do the tasks you least enjoy.

Think about your habits. Have you had enough rest lately? Have you eaten healthy enough? Appreciate your body, because taking care of it is essential if you want to feel better about yourself and the world around you.

If, on the other hand, you are taking care of your body but still fighting negative thoughts, think about why you have these thoughts. For example, is there someone who has made an annoying comment or do you compare yourself with others? Maybe it’s time to think nicer things about yourself and do something that makes you feel good. Are you already doing this?

Perseverance is the key to success in all aspects of life.  In the beginning it’s easy to stay motivated to achieve your goals because you think about the end result, but later you may have to use a lot of willpower to finish the task.

If you find yourself in the middle of the road, you may find that you’ve put more than half the time and effort into this goal, and now darkness is just around the corner. If this happens, think that investing time and effort will not yield a linear result. We  always need more time in the beginning than we estimated.

Find the light in the shadows

But you know what? You can do it! You just need to remember why you started. That way you can achieve it. Keep moving and you will achieve your goal, and only when you achieve it will you be satisfied.

Remember that there is always sunshine after the storm. As soon as you notice that you no longer see light in the shadows,  you must open your eyes, listen to your soul, and look for solutions so that your light can start shining from within yourself.
